As a board-certified South Carolina plastic surgeon, Dr C. Brett Carlin has been practising state-of-the-art cosmetic plastic surgery in Columbia since 1998. His practice is limited to aesthetic surgery of the face, breast, and body.
By narrowing his practice in scope, he can offer his patients truly superior care and expertise. “Our speciality encompasses a very broad spectrum. If you only do a few cases of a specific procedure each year, you never really gain meaningful experience or expertise with it. It is hard to be proficient in all aspects of plastic surgery. Find what you do well and become your best at it.”

We Stand On The Shoulders Of Giants.
Dr. Carlin pursued his plastic surgery training at one of the nation’s most respected institutions, Duke University Medical Center, to offer his patients this level of care. This afforded him access to and daily interaction with some of the most talented and brilliant minds in our speciality. Working side by side with internationally renowned leaders in plastic surgery allowed him extraordinary insight into the various aspects of our field.
Many of these surgeons were instrumental in developing not only specific plastic surgery procedures but also the Specialty as a whole. These surgeons include Drs. Donald Serafin, Nick Georgaide, Greg Georgaide, L. Scott Levin, Luis Vasconez, and Greg Ruff, to name only a few. The exchange of ideas and experience from continent to continent was phenomenal and stood as a fundamental educational building block.
